THE 3 SEPTEMBER FAVORITES THAT SHAPED MY MONTH

I feel like September has flown by. Mostly because I was busy with doing new things but also re-evaluating my life a little bit. It’s something that always kicks in when half of the year is done & we move into a new season. I like to rethink my path, goals & wardrobe to see where I am but also to check if I’m going in the right direction.

This month was one filled with new experiences, trying out new products & drooling over fall items — my favorite style season by far! My September favorites are not only products I love but also life moments that I think I should highlight more often.

// STYLE UPDATES

So now that it’s officially fall, I’ve started cleaning out my closet. All my spring and summer bits are stored away and I’ve put my knits on display. I have an itching feeling to overhaul my wardrobe a bit. Starting with a new coat to add to my ever growing collection. This dark olive green coat from H&M is high on my list but I also fell in love with this snake print fur coat* at ASOS. Which sounds like a total disaster in writing but honestly. Check. It. Out. It’s amazing!

I did finally score a new belt — which was more of a high priority buy that turned out fun. The belt was simply needed. I got this western looking belt from H&M (I couldn’t find a link but I am wearing it in this post). I love pairing it with high waisted trousers. It just gives my outfit a little something. If you’re looking for a similar belt, check out Zara. They also have a lot of cool belts in their collection for an affordable price. I am, however, still lusting after the western inspired belt from B-Low the Belt that would look amazing with denim that’s not high waisted. It’s still on my wish list that you can find here on The Chic List — which is also updated with my latest loves!

// NEW CAREER EXPERIENCES

This month is also a month of new career experiences. Isn’t it unfortunate how we get less & less opportunities to experience something new when we get older? That’s why I try to do something new whenever I get the chance. This month I gave my first ever course on personal branding on LinkedIn & I did an Instagram takeover for Ontdek Amersfoort. I learned a lot from doing both and even wrote a blog post about my experience on my other blog.

// BEAUTY FAVORITES

I have three beauty products that made my September favorites list: the Zoeva Nude Spectrum palette & the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk products.

The Zoeva Nude Spectrum palette* is probably not a new palette (as far as I know) but perfect for someone like me. I’ve never really been into eye shadows because I simply couldn’t figure out how to apply them. So when I got this palette I had a friend of mine — who is a makeup artist — show me how to properly apply eye shadow. Since then I’ve been hooked. I wanted a really neutral palette for every day wear & this one ticked off all the boxes. Also price quality wise this is a really good basic investment for your makeup collection. There are rosé tones, browns and more copper ones to spice up the looks. There is also a good balance of matte & sparkly shades.

That palette started an obsession because I also bought the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk eye shadow palette as well as the cheek to chic blush. Both stunning products in more pinky tones. I love using the light, sparkly pink shade — the prime shade — all over the lid & the enhance shade in my crease. I use the Zoeva palette as well to highlight my inner corner. Just a simple pink look that I can wear daily — you can check it out on my Instagram.

The cheek to chic Pillow Talk blush gives my cheeks a flushed, pinky look. The type of flush that takes my often ghostly complexion to a healthy glow. I’ve heard about this blush before but never tried them. I love that the product creates more depth than a regular blush. You take the outer color across your cheekbones and pop the middle color on the apples of your cheek. Creating a much more dimensional look.

Both Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk products are limited edition. The cheek to chic blush in Pillow Talk is still available here* but the eye shadow palette is sold out. You can keep an eye on it through this link.
