Summer is still going strong and I’ve been wearing all my summer wardrobe items out and about. And since the weather is so good, why not book yourself a quick summer holiday before fall starts?
I know for some people packing is such a stressful part of going on vacation but I. Love. It.
Finding ways to combine all the right items into many different outfits to flaunt around in the summer breeze is my jam. I love putting together light packing lists to share. And many who find my blog visit because of these lists. However, for this post I want to share 7 summer wardrobe items I think you should pack for your next holiday. Wether you are traveling alongside the Amalfi coast, going on a city trip to New York or read books by the pool in Bali, these 7 items are perfect for the summer weather.
THE ONE PIECE SWIMSUIT
Although I love bikini’s, I do think an one piece swimsuit is such a chic swimwear item. You can wear this summer wardrobe item to go swimming or combine it with your favorite denim shorts to wear for a quick bite into town. It’s a versatile item that can be worn many ways.
A FLOWY DRESS
Flowy dresses are one of my favorite summer wardrobe items. Firstly, they are loose and won’t cling on your body. Secondly, it will keep you cool. Especially when the wind blows but watch out for showing more skin than you were planning on.
Dresses are an easy way to put together a look in summer — you only need one piece and work around it with accessories. With the right flowy dress, you can wear it with scrappy heels for dinner or with sandals to discover a new city. If you are on a beach vacation it can also be a cute beach cover up. It’s multifunctional.
My favorite is the dress I’m wearing in this post from H&M*. It’s very ‘I’m-vacationing-in-Santorini’-chic vibes. I love wearing it because it is super flowy and the material is thin. Plus it just looks so chic. If you want a darker version, check out this black and grey strips, flowy dress from Anine Bing*.
STRAPPY HEELED SANDALS
What I’ve been loving — but haven’t got around taking a pair home — are all the different types of strappy heels that are popping up for summer. I think strappy heels are a chic option for evening events. There are different shapes and heels — which is what made a big difference. I’m loving the thicker heeled version that translates in more comfortable feet.
The Sam Edelman Yaro suede heeled sandals* look like the perfect example of a strappy heels that are also comfortable. They are very basic — which means they’ll go with everything — and have a block heel for extra comfort. Another amazing pair — with a heftier price tag — are these Saint Laurent ones* in leopard print. They’re a more modern spin on the strappy heeled sandal.
If you are looking for other affordable options that aren’t that high, you should check out & Other Stories. I love this green pair* with a sixties or seventies type of heel. And they also have a plain black pair* with a lower heel than the Sam Edelman ones.
OVERSIZED LINEN BLOUSE
A linen blouses are summer wardrobe items that are just as versatile as the flowy dresses — you can wear it in many different ways. You can dress it up with black jeans and strappy heeled sandals, combine it with your favorite pair of denim shorts or use it as a beach cover up.
PAIR OF STATEMENT SUNGLASSES
If you didn’t know yet, I love a pair of quirky, statement sunglasses. I don’t go for bold colors or extravagant shapes when it comes to my clothing. I rather make statements with accessories like a pair of sunglasses. It is an easy and safe way to make a bold statement.
My favorite pair I have right now are my Catwalk Junkie heart eyes sunglasses. They don’t have the exact same pair anymore but this is a very similar pair by Catwalk Junkie. I love these sunglasses so much I’m actually thinking of getting the real deal from Saint Laurent*. I also like it with the tortoiseshell print*.
Another pair I love that don’t necessarily have a bold shape is this pair of Valentino hexagon tortoiseshell sunglasses*. It has a very ‘vacationing-on-the-French-Riviera’-mood.

A CAMERA BAG
One of the best items I’ve bought by far, is my Gucci Disco camera bag*. I use this bag on a daily basis and it is my go to bag when I’m away from home. It looks small but don’t let that fool you. It can fit SO much. It can fit my camera and all my daily essentials and on holiday I can fit a sunscreen roller and my statement sunglasses.
Obviously my first choice would be the Gucci Disco bag. Next to the black one, I love the red one* as well. It is a great way to put a little color in your summer wardrobe. A black one I love is this Saint Laurent camera bag*. It has a higher price point than the Gucci one but has the same feeling — it is just purely which brand you like better. A difference is also in the details of the bag. The inside of the Gucci Disco bag has a light inside and Saint Laurent has a black fabric on the inside. The Gucci one has gold hardware and Saint Laurent silver.
SILKY CAMI TOP
The last item on the summer wardrobe items list is the silk cami top. If there is one time in the year to not wear silk, it is during the summer heat. However, as someone who gets overheated pretty quickly, I can wear a silk cami top. It’s a super chic summer staple that you can wear with your favorite denim cut offs or with a pair of black jeans and strappy heels. A versatile item you can also wear when you get back from holiday.
I personally have the Equipment Layla silk cami top in black with stars*. It’s one of my favorite investments items. I love wearing it in summer with a pair of distressed denim shorts, my ASOS studded sandals and Gucci Disco bag.
Equipment als has a version with leopard print* and polka dots*. L’Agence has a dark leopard print silk cami top* https://shopstyle.it/l/6NQh that looks absolutely amazing or go for their basic black one* https://shopstyle.it/l/6NQo.
If you don’t want to drop the money for real silk, then I got some options for you as well. This ASOS DESIGN satin cami top* has the same look as silk but a fraction of the price tag. H&M also has a version with buttons on the front* with a silk look and feel.
