The summer is almost coming to an end — season wise because the weather has been hot hot hot — and although it’s not the best investment to buy summer items anymore, there are still a couple I want to add to my wardrobe. Unless you have a great winter summer getaway planned or live somewhere where it isn’t cold 80% of the time. However, the items on my list, they can easily transition into fall.
// Straw bag
A trendy piece that everyone seems to have in their summer wardrobe is a straw bag. There are many different types of straw bags: clutches, mini bags, beach bags, crossbody, handheld, you name it.
Personally I got my eye on a black straw bag with gold handles from Mango that probably has already arrived when this post goes live. It’s is a trendy item so I didn’t want to spend too much money on it. And Mango is a great place to get your hands on affordable trendy items. It looks like the perfect little summer bag to combine with a black dress for a day look or with high waisted jeans and a silk cami.
So I cheated a little bit because I already checked off this item from my list. I recently threw out my trusty Forever 21 sandals that just had to go after two years — or maybe I’ve had them longer… Anyway, it was time for a new pair. Like I mentioned, the weather in the Netherlands is mostly cold so I didn’t want to spend too much on shoes that I could only wear a couple of months out of the year.
I ended up getting these ASOS studded gladiator sandals that remind of things I used to wear during my youth. Spikes were all the rage. However, this pair is much more chic and fits my personal style really well. I also already wore them with my & Other Stories chic little black dress on the blog.
// Cute, flowy dresses & skirts
I could wear cute, flowy dresses & skirts all year round so for me buying a summer version is a great investment. Plus I can wear most of the dresses during fall & spring time. The one that has been on my mind & summer wish list the last couple of months is the Frame and Partners Kye dress with star print. The ruffles, open back and print is what pulled me. I can see myself wearing it during the day right now with sandals or sneakers and in fall with booties & a leather jacket. I hope to add this beauty soon to my wardrobe.
