A lot of 90s items are coming back. Some are definitely better than their original. In the 90s the slip dress was the grunge staple you needed to have. Today the slip skirt has replaced it and it’s a chic update of its predecessor. Long gone are the lace trims — although I do love a good slip dress with lace trims. Say hello to silky and satins in chic animal prints or dark colors.
Luckily there is a slip skirt for every budget which makes it the perfect item to add to your Curated Wardrobe. And I’m here to tell you why you need a slip skirt or satin skirt in your wardrobe. Right. Now.
YOU CAN WEAR IT ALL YEAR ROUND
One of the best things about the slip skirt is that you can wear it all year round. In this fall inspired look — it was a warm day luckily — I’m wearing my H&M leopard print slip skirt* with my & Other Stories sock boots* and knitted sweater. Topped it off with my Gucci Soho bag* for a luxe touch. In spring I want to wear it with a graphic tee like this one from Anine Bing* part of The Chic List, heart shaped sunglasses and Vans sneakers*. When it gets chillier in the evening I can throw a black leather jacket on top for a cooler vibe. In summer you can throw on a cami top like this one* from & Other Stories or with a low back swimsuit like this one* from H&M with sandals, and you’re done for the day.
In other words, you can definitely wear it every season.

IT’S A FUSS FREE ITEM
Another thing I love about the slip skirt is that the silk and satin looks luxurious on its own. You don’t need a lot to make it work. To make sure you get the right satin skirt for your wardrobe, you need to write down where you going to wear it to and check your Curated Wardrobe sheets what your color palette is. If you haven’t already filled in your Curated Wardrobe sheets, you can find them here and download them for free without any strings attached.
You can go for an animal print like the one I’m wearing here from H&M or this tiger slip skirt from Anine Bing*. Or chose a solid color. Black is always a good choice like this one* from Anine Bing, champaign colored skirt like this one* from Vince or a Topshop satin skirt in dove grey*.
YOU CAN WEAR IT CASUAL & TO WORK
The reason why it’s a fuss free item, is because you can also wear it for work and casual. In this post I’m wearing it casual but I could easily walk into an office with look. Throw on some sneakers and it’s a casual look. Throw on heels and you can go out for drinks after work. It’s a win-win!
